Interactive Multimedia - Drumright
The Information Technology Interactive Multimedia program is designed to prepare students for success in various types of multimedia, web design, and information technology careers and prepares students for advanced educational opportunities. Personalized individual instruction, teamwork, projects, and student-directed learning combined with hands-on training utilizing the most modern hardware and software, train students for careers in business, industry and government. Eligible students may participate in an internship the last six weeks of the program.
Career Majors in Interactive Multimedia
Career Major: Interactive Media Specialist
Students will learn basic and intermediate multimedia skills through project-based, student directed, hands-on learning. Students will be able to use various hardware components including a computer, scanner, color printer, and digital tablet. Software skills will consist of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Illustrator and Final Cut Studio. Students will be able to plan, design, and publish a website with video clips using design guidelines based upon color theory, typography, balance, and web accessibility. Understanding brand identity and customer relations will be an important component in this skill set.
Career Major: Multimedia Specialist
This major prepares students to create and edit graphics for video, print and web publishing. Students learn desktop publishing and graphic design techniques along with digital photography skills. Students design and edit motion graphics and visual effects and use digital video equipment and software to generate projects to DVD formats for a wide degree of playback compatibility. Students gain skills required for Adobe, CIW, WOW, and/or Apple industry certifications.
Career Major: Multimedia Assistant
Students will learn basic, intermediate and advanced multimedia skills through project-based, student directed, hands-on learning. Students will be able to use various hardware components including a computer, scanner, color printer, digital and video camera, and digital tablet. Software skills will consist of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Illustrator, Flash, Aperture for photography, and Final Cut Studio. Students will be able to plan, design, and publish a website with video clips or Flash animations using design guidelines based upon color theory, typography, balance, and web accessibility. Understanding brand identity and customer relations will be an important component in this skill set.
Career Major: Video Editor
Students learn to edit raw video camera footage into final products for viewing and master both non-linear computer editing techniques and real-time editing for professional digital video productions. Students also acquire skills in digital photography and learn copyright basics. They enhance web design and animation skills as they bring their ideas to life. Students gain skills required for Adobe Certified Expert and/or Apple Pro industry certifications.
Career Major: Web Specialist
Students will learn basic and intermediate multimedia skills through project-based, student directed, hands-on learning. Students will be able to use various hardware components including a computer, scanner, color printer, and digital tablet. Software skills will consist of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Students will be able to plan, design, and publish a website using design guidelines based upon color theory, typography, balance, and web accessibility. Understanding brand identity and customer relations will be an important component in this skill set.
Career Major: Web Designer
Students will learn basic, intermediate and advanced multimedia skills through project-based, student directed, hands-on learning. Students will be able to use various hardware components including a computer, scanner, color printer, and digital tablet. Software skills will consist of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Illustrator, web page coding (XHTML and CSS) using Texpad, PHP for database connectivity, and the use of InDesign for some advanced design skills. Students will be able to plan, design, and publish a website using design guidelines based upon color theory, typography, balance, and web accessibility. Understanding brand identity and customer relations will be an important component in this skill set.
Career Major: Web Producer
Students will learn basic, intermediate and advanced multimedia skills through project-based, student directed, hands-on learning. Students will be able to use various hardware components including a computer, scanner, color printer, and digital tablet. Software skills will consist of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Illustrator, Flash, Fireworks, and AfterEffects. Students will be able to plan, design, and publish a website using design guidelines based upon color theory, typography, balance, and web accessibility. Students will be able to create animated objects to implement within their website productions. Understanding brand identity and customer relations will be an important component in this skill set.
Career Major: Flash Developer
Students will learn basic, intermediate and advanced multimedia skills through project-based, student directed, hands-on learning. Students will be able to use various hardware components including a computer, scanner, color printer, and digital tablet. Software skills will consist of Dreamweaver, web page coding (XHTML and CSS) using Texpad, PHP for database connectivity, FTP software to transfer files to a web server, Flash to create objects and games, and ActionScript 3.0. Students will be able to plan, design, and publish a Flash website using design guidelines based upon color theory, typography, balance, and web accessibility. Students will be able to create animated objects to implement within their website productions. Understanding brand identity and customer relations will be an important component in this skill set.
Career Major: Video Production Assistant
Students will learn basic, intermediate and advanced multimedia skills through project-based, student directed, hands-on learning. Students will be able to use various hardware components including a computer, scanner, color printer, digital and video camera, and digital tablet. Software skills will consist of Photoshop, Illustrator, Aperture for photography, and Final Cut Studio. Students will be able to plan, design, and create a digital video whether it be a public service announcement, documentary, or interview using video production guidelines based on NTSC standards. Understanding video production quality, rule of thirds, and all components of the pre-production, production, and post-production phases will be implemented.
Career Major: Animator
Students will learn basic, intermediate and advanced multimedia skills through project-based, student directed, hands-on learning. Students will be able to use various hardware components including a computer, scanner, color printer, and digital tablet. Software skills will consist of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Illustrator, Flash, and AfterEffects or Maya. Students will be able to plan, design, and create a website that includes animated objects using design guidelines based upon color theory, typography, balance, and web accessibility.
Earn college credit while attending Central Tech through our cooperative alliance agreement with the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. College credit is awarded by appropriate higher education institutions through Articulation and/or Cooperative Alliance Agreements.
