Anyone age 16 or older may enroll in a short-term class on a first-come, first-served basis. Certain regulations may apply. Enrollment is taken by the Adult Education/ACD staff Monday through Thursday from 8AM-9:30PM.

CMA

The CMA program is a training course designed for CNAs involved with the administration or distribution of medications. CMA’s work with residents or clients in a long-term care facility, a facility for developmentally disabled, residential or adult day care facility. Prerequisite: Possess current Certified Nurse Aide certification in Long-Term Care, Home Health, or Developmentally Disabled in good standing with OSDH, HS Diploma or GED and be 18 years old, and 6 months working experience as a CNA.

CMA CEUs

This course reviews medications, setting up, administering, and charting vital signs. Students will learn changes in policies and procedures for CMAs. Prerequisite: Possess current CMA certification in good standing with OSDH.

CMA-INSULIN ADMINISTRATION

This class is designed for Certified Nurse Aides involved with the administration or distribution of diabetic medication(s) to residents or clients in a long term care facility, a facility for developmentally disabled, residential care home or adult day care facility.

CMA-GLUCOSE MONITORING

This course will provide the CMA the education and skills to perform Glucose Monitoring. Emphasis is placed on the following areas: 1) Reading physician orders, 2) Quality control, 3) Maintaining equipment, 4) Safely handling equipment, and 5) Accurate documentation. Prerequisite: Possess current OSDH Certified Medication Aide certification.

CMA ADVANCED RG

Learn about medication and nutrition via nasogastric and gastronomy tubes. Also, learn administration of oxygen, metered dose inhalers, and nebulizers. Prerequisite: Possess current OSDH Certified Medication Aide certification.
