Emergency Medical Technician is the entry-level course to the Emergency Medical Service profession. Compassion, the ability to work under pressure, calm communication skills and physical strength are all key traits for an EMT. EMTs that work at fire departments and ambulance services are usually the first medical professionals on the scene of an emergency. The Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook for EMT and Paramedics project that job opportunities will grow 23% from now to 2022.
