If you find yourself unable to find suitable employment, or you need further education to move up the career ladder you’ve already started, the Adult Career Development (ACD) Department at Central Technology Center has the solution for you.
Short-term adult education classes are offered at Central Tech through ACD for a variety of interests such as computers, child care, business, medical occupations, health information, law enforcement and public safety.
“The majority of courses offered as short-term adult education classes lead to a specific license, certification or credential regulated by a state agency or board,” said Patti Pouncil, ACD Coordinator.
The Oklahoma State Department of Health has specific regulations governing the training and certification of nurse aides, home health aides, medication aides and emergency medical technicians (EMT’s).
Certified Nursing Assistant, CPR, EMT, and various other medical classes are offered on a regular basis with classes on either the Drumright or Sapulpa campus for your convenience.
“Our law enforcement classes for Oklahoma Security Guards and Private Investigators are also governed by the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET),” Pouncil said.
These state- and national-recognized certifications increase the value of the training received at Central Tech.
The Central Tech ACD office also assists students who are re-entering the workforce by providing referrals, GED classes, placement assistance and more.
