Central Tech Board President, Fred Caudle, retires after 19 years of outstanding service, 14 of which he served as Board President.

“I am proud and honored to have served on this prestigious board with the most professional administration, faculty and staff,” Caudle said. “My years on the board are filled with fond memories of staff that have served at state and national levels, and numerous students who have won in state and national competitions. The only thing that amazes me is how Central Tech can quickly adjust to meet the demands of students and industry.”

Caudle’s leadership guided Central Tech through the statewide change from vo-tech to CareerTech and the subsequent name change from Central Oklahoma Area Vo-Tech to Central Technology Center.

Other changes that occurred under Caudle’s leadership include: • The implementation of the mobile computer lab through Business and Industry Services with the ability to be parked in different communities, allowed Central Tech to offer training to individuals who would not have otherwise been able to take advantage of Central Tech’s services.

• Truck Driver Training and Nursing saw many expansions and additions throughout the years as well as building renovations and additions such as the one-stop center in Sapulpa and the addition of the Telecommunications wing in Drumright.

• Central Tech for became the first regional center for the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics

• In addition to student services and food court remodels, there were expansions of safety training facilities on both Drumright and Sapulpa campuses to help meet industry demands, and the dropout recovery program, Turning Point, was established.

• Other advances in technology and facilities include Biomedical and Pre-Engineering facilities and the construction of the pipeline and safety training center, which was named the Phil Waul Pipeline and Safety Training Center, at the discretion of Caudle.

“Fred Caudle is a role model of professionalism to all our staff, and displays great pride in the accomplishments of our graduates and the success of our programs,” said Phil Waul, Central Tech Superintendent.

In honor of Caudle’s leadership and service, the Fred Caudle Tuition Scholarship has been established. Central Tech thanks him for his years of service and wishes him many happy adventures with his family.
