According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, over 4,500 people are killed each year in the U.S. in work-related accidents and an additional three million are injured while on the job. Suffice it to say, safety is an important part of doing business, and preventing accidents is a high priority for most businesses. Central Tech adheres to this belief and provides safety training to companies either on-site for the company or on a Central Tech campus.

“We’ve taken a very proactive approach to safety, by involving Central Tech’s Pipeline Safety Center in the training for our employees. We went from some incidents of workers’ comp to zero. We believe that through the transitional safety training we get from Central Tech, it’s completely changed our culture and allowed us to do our work safely, which in turn, allows us to provide a better experience to our customers,” said Terry Brannon, Human Resource and Safety Director with Fechner Pump and Supply Company.

Central Tech develops and customizes courses to meet business’ specifications, offers assistance in developing annual safety training programs, and provides several standard safety classes which meet and/or exceed OSHA requirements. Some of the classes include: CPR/First Aide, HAZWOPER, OSHA safety, forklift certification, fall protection, and confined space entry/rescue. All courses incorporate hands-on realistic training utilizing state-of-the-art equipment.

“Our training makes an organization more competitive in the marketplace, reduces employee turnover, increases productivity, fosters growth and in turn creates business success,” said Ryan LeForce, Central Tech’s pipeline coordinator. “Bottom line…safety training saves lives.”
