This past summer while passersby noticed the exterior facelift, Central Tech’s Welding program on the Sapulpa campus was given a fresh look indoors. By removing a few walls and repositioning them, a new classroom, 1,500 square feet of shop space, instructor’s office, tool room/vault for the use in emergency situations, and a student locker room were added. New LED lighting along with exhaust fans for better air flow were also installed. All renovations were completed within the current footprint of the existing facility.

Welding instructor Jeff Vandever says, “The renovations added more shop learning space and also allows the instructor to see the entire shop from any area within the shop, making it a safer learning environment.”

With the welding classroom completed, the rest of the improvements around campus are nearly 95% complete.

“I am excited we’re near completion of the exterior renovations. It was time for a more modern look, one that better reflects the high level of education Central Tech offers to both secondary and post-secondary learners,” says Campus Director Kim Howard. “Central Tech teaches the skills that students need to earn a competitive wage or be better prepared for higher education.”
