Mobile cranes have become an essential part of most large construction projects, and because of their enormous versatility and possible configurations, they encounter more variables than any other type of material handling equipment. Central Tech recognized the industry’s need for training to comply with the new OSHA standards and gathered resources and expertise to construct an industry-leading training facility.

Because of Central Tech’s expertise and facilities, in less than a week you can be certified to work in a high-demand, high-paying industry, and be eligible to work anywhere in the US as a credentialed mobile crane rigger or signal person. In five days you can be on your way to a career in the high-demand construction industry.

Central Tech’s training facility is the only one in the state with a bridge crane installed, ready to provide training and assessment, along with a nationally recognized certification process. Small class sizes ensure each person receives individualized instruction to meet their needs.

“This is a great training program for individuals looking to change careers and enter a new high-demand, high-paying industry,” said Mark Cotner, Central Tech Industrial Coordinator.

Training equipment includes a three-ton bridge crane set up with the latest technology, including variable drive motors in six directions and built-in wireless controls. Training for mobile cranes can be customized for rough-terrain, all-terrain, boom truck, industrial all purpose, truck mounted, and crawler mounted, along with hydraulic and conventional booms.

Individual credentials are granted by NCCER and are valid in all 50 states for five years, giving individuals the flexibility to move where needed without the worry of credentials not transferring.

According to the Construction Craft Salary Survey conducted by NCCER, salaries for mobile crane operators average more than $64,500 and rigger salaries average more than $57,000, with some individuals earning much more.

Companies who have employees needing instruction in mobile crane operation can also receive training at Central Tech. All training is customized to the specific needs of the individual or company, and can be provided in Central Tech’s facility or on-site.

In addition to rigger and crane operator training, Central Tech offers safety training on a wide variety of topics including forklift, OSHA, HAZMAT, CPR, and more. For more information about training available through Business & Industry Services, please call 918-224-9300.
