stephanie pool receives okspra award

Central Technology Center is proud to announce that Stephanie Pool, Director of Marketing and Communications, has been named the Oklahoma School Public Relations Association (OKSPRA) Professional of the Year for 2025.

The award was presented at the OKSPRA Spring Conference held April 15 in Bartlesville, recognizing Pool for her exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and deep commitment to advancing public education through effective communication.

“Stephanie is the definition of a servant leader,” said Kent Burris, Superintendent of Central Tech. “She sets high expectations, leads with integrity, and always puts the needs of others first. Her communication expertise and her ability to inspire those around her continue to elevate our entire organization.”

Over the past year, Pool has led several high-impact initiatives, including the statewide rebranding and expansion of Central Tech’s Truck Driver Training program, managing a collaborative partnership with 14 other tech centers. She also coordinated a major media project with the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board featuring Mike Rowe, while simultaneously launching a new Explorer Program for middle school students, redesigning classroom spaces and creating its brand identity.

“Stephanie has a rare gift for connecting with people and shaping stories that matter,” said Jessie Phillips, past president of OKSPRA. “Her work not only strengthens Central Tech’s message but also the reputation of career and technology education across Oklahoma.”

Pool will represent Oklahoma at the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) Seminar this July in Washington, D.C., as the state’s nominee for National School Communicator of the Year.

She has been a member of OKSPRA for more than 20 years, serving in multiple leadership roles and mentoring fellow professionals across the state.
